I love this simple textile which I saw at Art & Article.  This large furoshiki cloth can be used as an apron, a tote for carrying groceries and produce, a bread bag, something to transport potluck and meals, a table cloth or even a reusable gift wrap.  The possibilities are endless.    I would love to get a few and use them as gift wrap.  Actually I would love it if someone were to gift me a Furoshiki.   I can do so much with it.

  2. Keep The Bed Bugs Away

    August 25, 2013 by barbara

I was helping a friend to look up some foam mattresses yesterday and was glad that I managed to find them for her in just a few minutes after going online. If you are interested as well, do click here for foam mattresses. After that, I came across this First Response Bed Bug Monitor from This little gadget is designed to help detect the bed bug infestations at home or while travelling. All you need to do is just set a trap before going to bed. The trap is effective for 24 hours. So how does it work? The bed bugs will be attracted to the heat emitting from the monitor and they will get caught in the sticky pad. You can easily see the bugs against a plain white background for confirmation the next morning.

    August 21, 2013 by barbara

So the other day I was invited to my friend’s restaurant/bar for a little gathering.  Her partner wanted to try out the exciting dukoff tenor mouthpiece at wwbw since he plays there every weekend.  The get-together was fun.  There was good food and good music.  Another friend came with a pie she had baked earlier.  I really love the box she used to transport the pie.  She got it from  It is a nifty handcrafted and reusable raw pine box which is designed to transport the pie safely and stylishly.   If you are serious about your pies, perhaps you may want to get one too.
