Growing Through Life is the TVB Drama that I am watching currently. This modern series drama replaces A Pillow Case of Mysteries II. Do you know why I enjoy watching it? Well, it has been a while since I’ve watched a drama starring Cecilia Yip. She is one of my favourite actresses and a very talented one. This 30-episode drama was filmed in Shanghai and Hong Kong. This drama also features actors and actresses from China. I haven’t heard of them before though but I really like Damian Lau, Bosco Wong and Raymond Lau. I have watched 10 episodes so far. Below is the synopsis.
Hoi Sing and his mother, Ho Wai Sum run a home appliance manufacturing factory. Hoi Sing’s uncle, Hoi Leung wants to acquire their business at all costs. Leung is money minded snob who doesn’t place much interest in family ties. Leung’s wife, Cheng Ming Chu and daughter, Hoi Mei Sze try hard to help Leung mend ties with Sing and eventually succeed when they manage to convince Leung to put the acquisition of the business on hold.
Leung wishes to own the land of which the factory sits on and plants a spy, Fong Lai King in Sing’s factory. To help her son and convince Leung to give up on acquiring their business, Wai Sum reveals to Leung a long-kept secret. To strengthen their business, Sing invites his friend, Chung Lam Tai to work with him.
Unfortunately for Sing, Lam Tai betrays him and sided with Leung. To add salt to the wound, Sing’s fiencee, Chuk Yiu Kwan calles off their wedding. These unfortunate events indirectly forced Sing to be even more determined; forcing him to use bolder strategies and tactics against his family member.

When I am shopping for tops, I have to refrain from buying some of them because they are low cut. I know I could wear a tube inside but it doesn’t look good all the time. I am glad that I finally found something which allows me to wear low cut tops without me fidgeting
It is a lil button called Bosom Button which can hold the clothing in place better than safety pins or tape. Bosom Button is made with sparkling Swarovski crystals and pearl cabochons. With the Bosom Button, I do not have to worry about my gaping shirt anymore. Available at Solutions.com.

The weekend came and gone in a flash. Time surely flies. So what do you do during weekends? I love going to the malls or flea markets for some shopping. When I am not at the mall, I love to sit in front of the computer and browse the online stores. Yes I do visit online stores a lot and I have been buying from a few of my favourite stores. I have a friend who does not like to do her shopping online because she said she prefers to be able to see and feel her merchandise and have them scanned by a barcode scanner. My friend feels that it is safer to shop this way. Well, there are pros and cons with shopping online and offline. One of my favourite online stores is Etsy.com. I just love handmade products. Right now, I am interested in this Red Lantern switch plate cover for my home. Lovely, ain’t it?

Lately, I have taken a liking to cardigans. I like cardis because they are very versatile. I can always wear a sleeveless top with a cardi over it so that my flabby arms are not visible. I have never worn any sleeveless tops before. Well, not when I am out of the house because I am very conscious of my flabby arms. With the cardis, I can wear whatever tops I want now. Perhaps I should get myself an elliptical trainer to stay in shape and tone my arms eh?
I can wear this lace top or
this beaded top
with a short cardi like the above
or a long cardigan.
All clothes are from Forever21.com

I was invited to dinner at a friend’s house a couple of days ago. My friend has just been promoted and the dinner is to celebrate his promotion. I was chatting with his wife while she was preparing food in the kitchen and can’t help but notice the stainless steel shield she was using. It was a finger guard which helps to protect the finger while slicing and dicing vegetables. It features a welded ring which can fits the chef’s middle finger. The tip of the shield holds the food in place while you cut/sliced. What a brilliant tool. I think I should get one too.

I cook peppers quite a fair bit and I also put them in the porridge for my child. However, I usually use half a pepper in the porridge. What do I do with the balance? I keep it in the fridge to be used the next time. Usually the leftover pepper would turn wrinkly after a few days. A while ago I came across a cute pepper-shaped container which helps to keep the air and light out of cut peppers. The Pepper Saver is perfect for keeping the cut peppers stay fresh longer. Available at HarrietCarter.com.

A friend of mine has been dieting and exercising for the past 3 months. She has recently lost about 5kg and her target is to lose 6kg. She’s doing such a great job and is an inspiration to people like me who are trying to lose weight. My friend said she has been using The Arctic Gym to keep fit. It is a video game which detects movements and measures the performance and fitness progress. It comes with a mat with thirty pressure sensitive pads with sensors to detect the feet and body positions. There are three preset exercise modes to choose from – muscle workout, aerobics and yoga. I think I will buy the top diet pills and The Arctic Gym to shed some kilos.
