  1. A Busy Weekend

    May 18, 2013 by barbara

Over the weekend, we attended a housewarming party as well as an 8 year old birthday party. Yeah it was a pretty busy weekend for everyone in our household. We had fun at the housewarming bbq party. The host even serenaded the guests with some songs on his electric bass. Music was great because the host just bought some new dr strings from musicians friend.  We also had a swell time at the kid’s birthday party and the highlight of the day was when everyone was given some frozen delights – Zipzicle Pop.  They are so good especially on a hot day.  I had a lot of these when  I was a kid.  Sure brings back some good memories.

  4. Clarks New Arrival

    May 7, 2013 by barbara

Have you checked out Clarks shoes this season?  I was at their shop last weekend and spotted a few pairs that I really like.  I love their wedges and I have been thinking if I should get a pair eventhough I have another pair of wedge which I haven’t worn yet.  It feels pretty uncomfortable when standing for some time so I think I may need to get the spenco insoles from bestinsoles.com.  I could not resist not buying that pair of wedge because it was on sale.  Now, back to Clarks.  I am also looking at some flats for my next vacation.  This little beauty just caught my eyes.

  6. Who Has Money to Waste on Overpriced Tattoo Equipment?

    April 28, 2013 by barbara

Who you know has a a lot of open extra money? I can’t think of anyone, no less than not anyone I realize personally. Major league baseball players are doing alright. But unless you’re an experienced athlete, you’re probably – at all like me – always trying to find a bargain. That’s why if you’re looking to get into tattooing and require some cheap tattoo equipment or tattoo practice skin, just check out www.thelashop.com. The web site is fantastic, with everything you will or could need, and at an excellent price, too. I’ve shopped around, and also you save a whole lot going to this site, as opposed to a physical store where there’s gonna be mark up for the middle men and middle women. Sure, they have to make a buck, too, nonetheless they might as well take that from someone else and leave you using your money that you earned. Seems only fair. If you’re a novice, get a gun here, if you’re an expert, upgrade your materials. When some potential client coming in thinking of getting his first, or her third, or his twentieth tattoo, you’re going to want to display the very best equipment you will discover.

Also put up a lot of pictures of past work you’ve done, or have a binder and print the pictures out very nice and put them within. Put the binder in the waiting room so people are able to see you’re legit. Even if you’re not. But if you’re not legit, then all the more reason why you need good equipment. Good equipment will go a long way – let’s put it this way, the tattoos I make now are far more advanced than the ones I used to make back from the day. Anyone who’s seeking to get into the art, and also at an affordable rate, owes it privately to check out every one of the equipment and supplies you may get at the LA Shop. You’ll be blown away about what you may get for how little you can find it. Then target your craft this will let you blast.

  8. Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

    April 20, 2013 by barbara

I saw these lovely hand-painted enamel floral tumblers at Amazon.com.  These colourful tumblers have a Asian-touch to them.  They come in a set of 4 and are made from recycled aluminum and are hand painted by artisans in India. Besides adding a festive touch to any parties or dinner table, these floral tumblers are great as Mother’s Day gift.  I would love to get a few (dropping big hints).

  9. Properly Caring for Your Baby’s Skin

    April 16, 2013 by barbara

A baby’s skin is incredibly sensitive—especially during early infancy. It requires a great deal of care and attention to stay healthy. Once you know this and you start to really search out skin care products for your baby, it is easy to get overwhelmed. There are so many different products to choose from! How do you know which ones are best for your baby? How can you be sure that you are giving your baby the best skin care?

    First: Don’t Panic

Babies get rashes all of the time. It’s because their skin is still adjusting to life and all of the different elements that can affect them outside of the womb. Some babies are even born with rashes (cradle cap is a common one). Don’t rush for the lotion or antibiotic wipes every time you see a bump. You could wind up doing more harm than good! Instead, learn the signs of a rash that needs attention and a rash that is just your baby’s skin’s way of saying “what the heck just touched me?!?” before it calms down.

Second: Let Your Baby “Air Out”

Diaper rash is the most common skin problem babies experience. It turns up when diapers are too tight or when a wet diaper is left on for too long (or, if you use cloth diapers, because the detergent you’re using irritates your baby’s skin). Keep it at bay by allowing your baby’s “diaper area” to spend time in the open air. When a diaper does need to be changed, move quickly to get the soiled diaper off of your baby. Then wash down the area with a wet, warm and soft cloth. Applying zinc oxide cream can also help.

Bonus: letting your baby “air dry” after a bath is a great way to give your baby some much needed “naked time” and keep moisture from building up and causing rashes.

Third: Loose and Dry is the Way to Go

As cute as your baby may be all bundled up, whenever possible, keep your baby in loose, dry and soft clothes. This allows your baby’s skin to breathe which keeps issues like prickly heat (which can happen even in winter) at bay.

Fourth: It All Comes Out in the Wash

Make sure you’re using a gentle and hypoallergenic laundry detergent on your baby’s clothing (and diapers if you use cloth). Babies generate a lot of laundry but luckily there are a wide variety of promo codes out there that you can use to help keep your detergent (and other product) costs down.

    Finally: Take Care of Yourself

Don’t forget that your own skin is going to play a role in the health of your baby’s skin. The products that you use on yourself can easily be transferred to your baby and cause irritation. Make sure your own skin care products are top of the line and don’t contain a bunch of artificial or harmful stuff. This is a time when it’s worth it to spend more on “the good stuff” (this where those BH Cosmetics promo codes you found will come in handy).

Your baby’s skin is going to be sensitive. As long as you are careful and vigilant, however, you should be able to keep it perfectly healthy.

  10. Spring Cleaning Time

    April 13, 2013 by barbara

Spring is the time for many homes to open up the window and let the fresh air comes in.  Many people I know would take this opportunity to do some spring cleaning and decluttering.  I am in the mood for some organizing around the house and was looking at The Container Store for some ideas.   Found a few interesting storage items which I can surely use.

Como Over The Door Shoe Bag

Bamboo Weave Bin which are great for toys, remote controls or craft supplies.
