  1. Birthday Gift For A Six Year Old

    April 7, 2011 by barbara

My daughter will be celebrating her 6th birthday next month.  I still have not decided what present to give her.  My spouse suggested that we get her a bicycle since she has been asking for one with a basket when she saw it at a bicycle shop in the mall.  Oh, she also prefers one that is pink as pink is her favourite colour.  I wonder if we could find a folding bike too.  It would be easy to bring along to the park.  If not, we may need to get a thule bike rack for our car.

  2. The Ultimate Juicer

    April 4, 2011 by barbara

Check out this cool kitchen gadget from Royal VKB.  It is a double-sided hand juicer which allows you to juice without any mess.  Just place the Citrange juicer directly on the glass.  It has a built-in funnel which will guide the juice into the glass.  Another great thing is that the Citrange also filters out the seeds.  The rounded side is for bigger fruits like grapefruits or orange and the pointy side is for lemons or limes.  I love to have my juices in the morning before I pop some pre workout supplements. The Citrange is just what I need.

  3. Cath Kidston

    April 1, 2011 by barbara

I just discovered Cath Kidston recently.  A friend was using a pretty floral tote bag and when I queried, she told me it’s a Cath Kidston.  I checked her website as soon as I could and I fell over heels in love with her collection. Designer, Cath Kidston is based in London and is known for her quirky, floral print.  Besides clothing, accessories and bags, she has expanded  her products to homewares and kids.  Today, Cath Kidston is a unique global lifestyle brand.  Here are a few things which I really like.

  4. DIY Gift Bows

    March 28, 2011 by barbara

Before I begin to look for diet pills that work, I thought I would share with you this lovely gift bows idea from How About Orange. Everyone knows that I love paper craft.  So when I saw these pretty recycled gift bows made from yellow pages, I was thrilled.   First, cut out 1 inch wide strips from pages of the book.  Then cut a few full-length strips as well as a few strips that are 3″ shorter.  Form the strips into an “eight” shape and tape the ends in the center.  Arrange the longer strips to form a circle and staple it in the middle.   Repeat with the shorter strips and add the single loop to the center using double-sided tape.  For more craft ideas, do visit How About Orange.

  5. Japan Relief By Gap

    March 28, 2011 by barbara

It has been 2 weeks since an earthquake with  magnitude of 9.0 hit Japan followed by a devastating tsunami which left thousands dead and missing. Several nuclear power plants are in serious condition and continue to spew radioactive contamination to the environment.  Many retailers have reached out to help.  Japan’s largest retailer, Uniqlo, donated $25.6 million.   Gap has created a limited edition Tee in solidarity with the people of Japan and to support the relief effort.  All profits will be channelled to the GlobalGiving Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund.  If you would like to donate, do visit Gap for more information.

  6. Things I Love For The Home

    March 26, 2011 by barbara

A friend of mine is hosting a housewarming party in two weeks’ time.  She moved into her beautiful apartment about a month ago.  I cannot wait to visit her and see her apartment.  My friend is a chef and this means she would be cooking some awesome food for her guests.  I may need to take some myoripped after the party.  As for housewarming gift for my friend, I have narrowed it down to a few items from UnCommonGoods.com.  I still cannot decide which one to get her.

  7. Sleeping Bag, Anyone?

    March 25, 2011 by barbara

Have you heard of JakPak?  Well outdoor enthusiasts are going to love this.  JakPak is actually a jacket with a built-in tent and a built-in sleeping bag.  How cool is this?  Made from breathable but waterproof urethane coated ripstop nylon / polyester fabric, the sleeping bag can be unfurled from the sides of the jacket.  Great for keeping you warm and cozy for the night.   Next time when you head out to the woods, there is no need to bring along a tent and a sleeping bag.  Just wear a JakPak.  Talk about travelling light.  I am thinking of getting one for my spouse because he enjoys camping with his friends.  I am sure JakPak can also keep his nikon camera batteries and camera safely too.

  8. Loving These Cardis

    March 24, 2011 by barbara

I love wearing cardigans.  They are so comfortable and I also love the layered look.  You can wear wool in winter or cotton ones in the summer months.   Cardis are also very versatile.  They look great with skirts, shorts, jeans and can be worn on any occasions.  Before I start reading up on rfid, I thought I would show you some of the cardigans that I love right now and they are from my favourite store – J Crew.

  9. Wash and Brush Timer For Kids

    March 20, 2011 by barbara

Kids, mine included, do not like to wash their hands or brush their teeth. Even if they do, they tend to do it as quickly as possible, which is not really a good thing because they won’t be able to wash away the germs effectively.  This Wash & Brush 2-Minute Timer is designed to teach the children to slow down.   Press the appropriate button and the green light will start flashing.  When its near the expiry period, the light flashes faster and then turn red when done.  This timer is a fun way to promote good hygiene in children.  So each time when the child wants to wash his/her hands or brushes their teeth, let them press the button and start washing away. 10. D-I-Y Wedding Decors From Martha Stewart

    March 17, 2011 by barbara

I was at Martha Stewart just now to look for some inspiration on how to D-I-Y some wedding decorations.  My cousin is getting married in a few months time and is planning the wedding decor herself.  As a person who loves crafts, she would like to handmade the wedding decor using paper.  I found a few inspiring decor from Martha Stewart and hopefully they will give my cousin some great ideas for her garden wedding.
