I don’t know about you but I really dislike those pesky staples.  I don’t like to remove these metal doodads and sometimes my fingers will accidentally get caught in its teeth.  Ouch!  Do you know that staples hardly get recycled?  Actually they are often the cause of increase in paper recycling cost because they contaminate the recycling stream and jam machinery.  So, if you want to go green, you can bind your papers together with this ingenious Staple-less Stapler from LatestBuy.com.  It can bind up to 7 pages by using a special cut, fold and tuck operation.  Get one for yourself today and say goodbye to metal staples.

  2. Piece Of Cake

    April 1, 2009 by barbara

Found this smart kitchen gadget at Charles & Marie which I believe every home should have.  A cake cutter!  I find it really hard to cut up a cake properly and serve it to my guests most of the time.  Therefore, this brilliant Piece of Cake cutter is godsend.  It looks like a tong with a triangle on top and it works as a cake cutter and lifter.  All you have to do is to slide the cutter down on the cake and then squeeze the tongs slightly.  Voila, you can transfer the perfect piece of cake into the plate.  No fuss at all.  Available in funky Orange, White and Yellow.

  5. Ruffles Shower Curtain

    March 25, 2009 by barbara

I spotted this lovely Ruffles Shower Curtain at Target a while ago and I am quite smitten by it.  It is very unique and beautiful.  The top is bordered with multiple rows of ruffles and the curtain is 100% polyster.  Looks like something you would find at those boutique hotels, eh?  Great for those who would like to add a shabby chic touch or delicate touch to their vintage bathroom.   I am going to place my order soon.  If you like it too, swing by Target.

  6. Can You Tell Why Your Baby Is Crying?

    March 23, 2009 by barbara

When I became a mother for the first time, one of the things that made me go crazy is when the little one started to cry.  I didn’t know if she was still hungry, uncomfortable or wanted some attention.  Sometimes I had to carry her in my arms for half and hour before she would stop.  Well, there is good news for parents now.  You can tell why your baby is crying with a device called BabySays created by Hansook Lee, a designer.  It is actually a transmitter which you have to place in a baby pillow that receives signal from the baby’s cries and analyzes its pattern.  This transmitter will then send a message to the receiver which is a bracelet worn by the parents on his or her wrist.  Based on the baby’s crying pattern, the transmitter projects words such as hungry, diaper, etc. and accompanied with either the actual sound of baby’s cry or a silent vibration.  Brilliant invention eh?

  9. Sweater Dress From Banana Republic

    March 11, 2009 by barbara

One of my favourite stores is Banana Republic.  I was just browsing their website earlier and couldn’t take my eyes off this Shiny Pleated Sweater Dress from their Spring collection.  I love the shade of this dress (Moroccan Camel) and also the vertical stripes on it.  This viscose sweater dress has a slimming effect and is great for both work and a night out.  Guess I won’t need to take the best weight loss pills in town in order to look slim in this lovely number.

  10. A Rocking Horse Is Better Than A Pet

    March 10, 2009 by barbara

My 4-year old has been talking to me about getting a puppy for our home.  Yeah, she wants to have a pet ever since she saw my cousin’s little poodle during the recent Chinese New Year gathering.  I definitely do not think it is a good idea to get a puppy now as she still does not know how to take care of the animal.  It is not easy having a pet and it requires a lot of responsibility.  Guess she would have to wait till she is a little older.  In the meantime, I think this beautiful plush rocking horse could change her mind regarding a pet now.  It is a Rock and Trot Rocking Horse from Melissa & Doug and is finished in premium plush fabric.  It has a safe, sturdy hardwood base and a comfortably soft saddle.  This pony holds up to 150 pounds and is almost as good as a real horse.  However, you do not need to get any horse supplies for it so it is much easier to take care than a dog :)   I am sure my toddler will be thrilled to have this Rocking Horse.
