The First Lady wore a beautiful Gucci dress to the White House dinner 2 nights ago. This is the first time she wore a non-American designer dress. She looks breathtaking in this striking pink and green gown.  It does have a Christmas feel to it.  Many wondered if the reason for the choice of an Italian designer was to show her support for Italian Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi who announced his resignation after voters rejected his constitutional reform plans.  Perhaps fashion is used as a strategic tool to convey diplomatic messages?

So did you watch the Emmy Awards that took place in LA last night? As always, fans and style-watchers were busy checking out their favourite stars.   Some of the dresses made my jaw dropped.  They are so gorgeous.  Here are some of my favourite that night.

I love Kirsten Dunst’s simple black gown that shows some cleavage.

Sarah Hyland looked amazing in a strapless, floral top and cropped trousers.  Pants on the red carpet are chic.

Mandy Moore is fantastic in a marigold Prabal Gurung gown and a Jimmy Choo box clutch.

Recently the Duchess of Cambridge paid a visit to India with the Duke of Cambridge Prince William. The fashion world went into a frenzy after photos of the duchess emerged.   I must say that she has such a great fashion style. Besides clothes by Anna Sui, Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham, the Duchess wore clothes by famous Indian designer as well.    I love her effortlessly chic style.  I was so impressed with her when she demonstrated her ukulele skill during a hospice visit last year that I went to check out the guitar center ukelele tuner.   She is inspirational.

Capes are one of the hottest trend since last year. They are classy and chic, and so fun to wear. Definitely one of my favourite trend. Cape coat is great in the Fall and Winter. Pair it with leggings or skinny jeans for an effortless look. Check out Jennifer Lopez’s mustard caped gown at the Golden Globe Award 2016. Ain’t it stunning?  It is a Giambattista Valli Fall/Winter 2015 couture collection.

Many people watch award shows because it is always exciting to see who wins.  I am one of those who just love to see what the celebrities are wearing.  Although you may not like the celebrities, you cannot deny that some of them really wear some amazing clothes, especially the women.  All those fancy gowns and dresses are beautiful.  Not to mention the exquisite jewelry accompanying the outfits.  I love admiring them when the celebrities were interviewed at the red carpet during the pre-show.  It is very fun to see the unique and elaborate clothes that they are wearing and which designers made them.  Since these celebrities take time to choose an outfit, pair it with the right jewelry and hairstyles as well as makeup, they would want to be seen by as many people as possible.

It is not so much about which designers designed the gowns, it is more like what they are wearing to the shows.   The recent 67th Primetime 2015 Emmy awards red carpet brought out the biggest names in television and it was a star-studded night at the Microsoft Theater.  This award show was full of bold fashion choices.   There were many in black formal dresses such as Taraji P Henson, Amy Poehler,  Julie Bowen and many more.  My favourite were celebrities in red and white gowns such as Louise Roe who wore a simple white toga gown and Giuliana Rancic in a stunning long sleeveless gown.  There were a few stunning gowns in blazing tones like fuschia and pink.  If you are looking for beautiful gowns to wear this holiday season, do check out Formaldressaustralia.
