Growing Through Life is the TVB Drama that I am watching currently. This modern series drama replaces A Pillow Case of Mysteries II. Do you know why I enjoy watching it? Well, it has been a while since I’ve watched a drama starring Cecilia Yip. She is one of my favourite actresses and a very talented one. This 30-episode drama was filmed in Shanghai and Hong Kong. This drama also features actors and actresses from China. I haven’t heard of them before though but I really like Damian Lau, Bosco Wong and Raymond Lau. I have watched 10 episodes so far. Below is the synopsis.
Synopsis:
Hoi Sing and his mother, Ho Wai Sum run a home appliance manufacturing factory. Hoi Sing’s uncle, Hoi Leung wants to acquire their business at all costs. Leung is money minded snob who doesn’t place much interest in family ties. Leung’s wife, Cheng Ming Chu and daughter, Hoi Mei Sze try hard to help Leung mend ties with Sing and eventually succeed when they manage to convince Leung to put the acquisition of the business on hold.
Leung wishes to own the land of which the factory sits on and plants a spy, Fong Lai King in Sing’s factory. To help her son and convince Leung to give up on acquiring their business, Wai Sum reveals to Leung a long-kept secret. To strengthen their business, Sing invites his friend, Chung Lam Tai to work with him.
Unfortunately for Sing, Lam Tai betrays him and sided with Leung. To add salt to the wound, Sing’s fiencee, Chuk Yiu Kwan calles off their wedding. These unfortunate events indirectly forced Sing to be even more determined; forcing him to use bolder strategies and tactics against his family member.
