Most revered and adored, the iconic fashion designer, Karl  Lagerfeld has passed away early this morning.  When news of his passing was made known, the fashion world went into mourning.  Karl Lagerfeld was 85 years old.  He passed away in Paris following weeks of ill health, and two weeks before the Chanel F/W 19 collection is due to show during Paris Fashion Week.

Lagerfeld is the world’s most recognizable designer, his creative was boundless and even new designers cannot keep up with him. His loss will be greatly felt. May he rest in peace.

So the Grammy Awards 2019, the biggest music night in Hollywood took place 3 nights ago at the Staples Center, Los Angeles.  The star-studded event was hosted by singer Alicia Keys and she was accompanied on stage by Lady Gaga, Jada Pinket, Michelle Obama and Jennifer Lopez.

Chanel has announced in October 2018 that it would be collaborating with Pharell Williams on a capsule collection.  There were not many details about the collaboration after that but recently Pharell was spotted carrying a large Chanel bag with the number 5 in white at the Paris Fashion Week’s Men.  The shopper tote bag features the Parisian house’s logo in silver hardware and chain details on the straps.  Pharrell Williams x Chanel capsule will be available at the brand’s flagship store in Seoul on March 29.

Melania Trump is no doubt one of the most fashionable First Ladies the United States has ever seen.  A couple of days ago, the FLOTUS wore a jacket when she made a surprise visit to the U.S. Mexico border after President Trump’s decision to sign an executive order that would stop migrant children from being separated from their families while at the border.   Melania was pictured wearing the $39 Zara jacket when she boarded Air Force One, and it instantly triggered a media frenzy.

She was praised by some for caring about the welfare of the minors while many others were furious over her choice to wear an olive green jacket which has the words : “I really don’t care. Do u?” in bold white graffiti-style writing.

There are those who believe that her decision to wear a jacket with such a bold message, especially since it was a hot day, was not a mistake.   It was done intentionally to send a message.  What do you think?
