Fly Butterfly Fly

I was blog-hopping and came across this lovely Silver Butterfly Mobile from Shoestring Home.  Aren’t they a stunner?  Reminds me of the butterfly decor in the lobby of one of the las vegas nv hotels where me and my family stayed during our vacation 2 years ago.  This intricately detailed butterfly mobile is suspended from a metal frame.  A beautiful addition to any room and they make a great housewarming gift too.

Colourful Suitcase For Kids

bag1

Do you like these mini suitcases for children?  Ok, now before you start dreaming about going away to those fabulous Outer Banks rentals, these mini suitcases are actually storage pieces for your child’s bedroom or playroom.  They look so vintage, like those suitcases in the 50s era.   These mini suitcases are made from 100% post consumer fibreboard and are durable with a protective outer shell.  They come in a variety of shades – red, blue, green, orange and pink.  If you would like to get them for your kids, check out LandofNod.com.

Cool Tableware

My husband and I went to the mall a few days ago as he wanted to check out some home alarm systems.  While we were there, I went into a shop selling kitchen accessories and was bowled over by this sugar bowl. It is made of steel with a colored finish or stainless steel.  The lid is made of polished stainless steel.  Great for those who want to add a dash of colours in the kitchen.

Citrus Fruit Peeler

I always have a hard time peeling oranges.  So what I normally do is just cut the oranges with the skin intact and try not to eat into the skin.  I am so glad to stumble upon the Apostrophe Orange Peeler from Fitzsu.  It is a handy kitchen utensil that cuts just enough into the peel.  It is very easy to use and the peel will be removed in a jiffy.  The Apostrophe Orange Peeler is just as cool as those metal buildings. Makes a great housewarming gift.

Cool Lego Kitchen Island

I came across this really cool Lego Kitchen Island while blog-hopping earlier. Designers, Philippe Simon and Pillard Rosetti customized their Ikea kitchen island by using over 20,000 pieces of Lego. What a brilliant idea. I don’t know about you but I simply love this kitchen island.  It is definitely a great way to add some colours to the kitchen.   Lego fans out there are going to go goo-goo-ga-ga over this.  Well, for those who have Amish fireplaces, then I am afraid this colorful Lego kitchen island does not go well with your decor.

Have Some Rocking Fun

chair

Here is a rocking chair which I would like to have in my living room. A fun chair with lots of foot.  Designed by Paulius Vitakuskas and available at Gnr8.biz, this Ku Dir Ka rocking is a classic in the futuristic form.  This cool design features point-to-point linear rocking.  This is definitely not your regular rocking chair.  Made from plywood and available in two colours – red and black.  I can picture myself relaxing on this rocking chair, reading the article on adhd in children or the newspaper.

Recycled Door Curtain

If you intend to turn your house into a green home, here is something cool you can get.  A recycled curtain made from plastic flip-flops.  Artisans from Kenya created this unique door curtain of strung beads made from recycled flip-flops that were washed ashore on the Indian Ocean coast.  What a great way to turn thrash into something useful.  Check out Tenthousandvillages.com for more information.

Adding Some Fun To Your Wall

I remember playing those little sliding puzzles when I was a kid.  It was a fun game.  Those puzzles are now an inspiration to the Slider Wall Art from Jellio.com.  You can display them with the letters in order on your wall or mix them around. I am sure your guests will have lots of fun with this wall art.  They are also great for housewarming gift or birthday gift.
