Recycled Party Decor

I was blog-hopping last night and when I was at Design Sponge, I read about its wonderful party decorations idea.  I love it to bits.  Design Sponge talked about using the things that we already have in the house and recycle them as party decorations.  It just super simple and not to mention eco-friendly too.  Just use flyers or magazine pages to create some tassels or newspapers as buntings.  Then decorate them with some washi tapes or colourful markers.  Awesome right?    I wonder what I can create with some t-nuts which I have plenty at home. Can’t wait for the next party so that I can let my creative juices flow.

Floral Paper Straws

Just came across some really nice paper straws again. Oh how I love them. If you don’t know by now, I am quite smitten with paper straws. I saw these beautiful floral ones at http://emeraldandella.com.au.  Check them out soon if you would like something unique for your party.  If you are like me who just cannot get enough of paper straws, get some for your collection.

Blooms Forever

You will always get bright coloured flowers and leaves with no water required when you have this Portable Everlasting Plant from FireBox.com.  This paper plant is very easy to assemble and great for decorating your window sill, desk or kitchen table.   They make very nice gifts for people who do not have green thumbs.

Casa Cabana

This lovely playhouse from PlasticaShop.com is great for stimulating creativity and play.   It offers hours of endless fun for the kids.  Casa Cabana comes with a door, 7 windows and spy holes.  It can be easily folded up for storage and is made from 100% biodegradable cardboard.

Cute Stencils On Your Coffee

I always love looking at the cute designs in my cup of latte.  I have always been fascinated with how the barista make them.  Sometimes it is a few swirl designs and at times I get an owl or a heart shape.  If you are like to add some fun into your own latte or mocha, well you may want to check out Cosmic Emotions at http://www.etsy.com/listing/88197117 and get a stencil.  Have fun sprinkling cinnamon on top of your coffee.

Unique Gift Tags

I know that the season of giving is just over and you probably won’t be giving out any gifts for now but I thought I would share with you some very nice gift tags and ropes which I discovered at Anthropologie.

Make Your Own Gift Tags

If you don’t know already, I love wrapping gifts and d-i-y my own gift tags. Thanks to Pinterest and all the crafty blogs out there which leave me very inspired. I do not buy gift tags anymore and for wrapping, I use mainly kraft paper in white or brown. I found some pretty cool ideas on how you can d-i-y the gift tags with washi tapes, doilies and cardboard.

Halloween Craft For Children

Halloween is less than 2 weeks away.  My daughter has been asking that I buy her a Halloween plastic bucket for trick-o-treating.  As there will be no trick-o-treating over here, I think it is not a good idea to buy it.  Therefore I have decided to make one for her.   I logged on to Pinterest last night to find some ideas and chanced upon a few really nice and easy Halloween crafts for children.

I am going to try to do a couple of crafts with my daughter soon.  Hopefully she would forget about asking me to buy/make her a plastic pumpkin basket.

Packing Tape With A Twist

While the spouse was busy checking out the Delafield petroleum drop hose specification, I was doing some online shopping for my craft.   I stumbled upon this  http://www.mmiinn.com, an online store which offers a wide range of printed adhesive tapes which gives the illusion that your boxes are sealed with leather straps, bolts and hinges.    I find this pretty neat and I think I am going to get some.  You all know how much I love tapes eh?

Bike ChalkTrail Kit

I just came across something really fun for the kids – drawing the sidewalk while cycling. I know my kid would enjoy doing these 2 things together.   All you need is a set of wheels and the Chalktrail Kit from Uncommongoods.com.  Just set up the kit by snapping the adjustable chalk holder onto the bike’s back wheel.   This kit consists of chunky non-toxic, washable chalk pieces.  This Chalktrail Kit will bring hours of fun and laughter.   Time to get the creative juice flowing.
