Craft Needs

I was reading the Ripped Freak reviews when a friend called and asked me to check out this pretty lace heart edge punch. She knows how much I love doing craft like party favors and wrapping presents.  Available at JoAnn Fabric and Craft store.

Recycled Tin Cans

You know, this DIY stuff is really making me fall head over heels in love with arts and crafts especially when it comes to paper crafts.  I am glued to the computer most of the time browsing creative blogs and pinterest.  If only I have more time.  I would love to just sit down and do my crafts.  Sometimes I even wish that my family or friends are planning a wedding so that I can help with some decor stuff.  I saw this cute idea on recycling tin cans into centerpieces at reuseandupcycle.blogspot.com.

I Am A Pinaholic

Did I mention that I love Pinterest? I can actually spend hours just browsing this site. I bet all Pinterest fans do that. Besides fashion and food recipes, my favourite category is craft. There is virtually nothing that these creative people cannot do. I get so inspired seeing all the wonderful crafts pinned in this virtual board. I think one would probably be able to find a tutorial on how to build steel buildings. Just yesterday, I chanced upon this lovely idea on how to decorate a mason jar.

So simple and beautiful.  These jars are great as centerpiece for a wedding or dinner party.

IKEA Regolit Lamp

Just the other day when my spouse was at a store checking out the BBK electric fuel pump kit as he would like to get a replacement for his force-induction car,  I went shopping in IKEA.  I am a great fan of IKEA.  My hubby is a car-enthusiast so he spent like 2 hours checking out the electric fuel pump kits which means I had 2 hours in the Swedish store.  Actually, I have seen some inspiring DIY lamp using IKEA’s Regolit lamp from IKEA Hackers.  Therefore, I would like to do something too.  I did get myself 2 Regolit lamps.  Time to let the creative juice flows.

Gift Tags for Jam Jars

A good friend of mine loves to bake and she has been baking all kinds of cakes and cookies for her friends and family.  Last Christmas, she decided to embark on a little business by baking fruit cakes and gingerbread cookies.   All her bakes were snapped up in a very short time.  This shows how good she is at baking huh?  She gave me a piece of fruit cake and a jar of cookies.  They were heavenly.  I can still imagine the taste of rum from the fruitcake when I took a bite.  Recently, she is into making jams and have made quite a number of marmalade.  Since everyone loves her jam, she intends to make other types of fruit jams to sell.

Since I love to create my own gift tags, I told my friend that I would love to do some jam jar tags for her.  I am thinking of using twines and brown paper / kraft paper to create the tags.  I have a few ideas on how to design the tags.  It is going to be fun and I cannot wait to start.  I hope my friend’s baking business will continue to grow and soon she may need to get some rack cards to promote her business.

DIY Paper Flowers For Valentine’s Day

I was at a craft blog earlier today and stumbled upon a very creative idea of making your own paper flowers.  Rhonnadesigns.blogspot.com has a tutorial video on how to make flowers with coffee filters.  Ain’t that awesome?  It is really very easy to do.  All you need is a pack of coffee filters, glue gun and stapler.

These paper flowers are great as gift toppers. Just dress up your gifts with ribbons, customized gift cards, the paper flowers and you are good to go.

I have a pretty busy weekend heading my way.  Next week is the last day of school and there is Children’s Day celebration and a Tea Party.   I am making some goodies bags for my daughter’s classmates and have turned to Pinterest for some inspiration and ideas.  Oh what would I do without Pinterest? Below are some of the bag ideas that I may borrow next week.
