I can never remember how long I should keep my beauty products. Finally there is a guide which I found on Pinterest. Do you know when is the expiration dates of your mascara or eyeliners?
I went on a spring cleaning spree over the weekend. Did the kid’s bedroom and boy does she have a lot of toys, stationery and bags. I cannot believe how many things she has and it is also partly my fault for buying so many things when she does not need them actually. There are many new bags, pouches and note books in her drawers. I did throw some old notes and broken toys into the pull out waste containers. I managed to collect a big bagful of new stationery which I am going to donate to the orphanage. Will spring-clean more this coming weekend.
Summer is here. Well, almost here. The weather sure feels like it these days. It is time to shop for some new summer outfits. The best place to shop for them are at J Crew. I just love their collection. Whether you are looking for shorts, cotton shirts or sandals, just head over to J Crew for a complete summer look. Below are a few of my favourite pieces.
Eyelet peasant top and printed batik shorts.
Summer time means feeding time for mosquitoes. If you are prone to mosquitoes bite, you may want to check out this website for the Natural Mosquito Repellent. It has a blend of essential oils including citronella, catnip and calendula. This all-natural mosquito repellant is very effective. Citronella is from the lemongrass plant and has a distinctive odor which drive mosquitoes away.
This Hug Doug spoon saver is so darn cute! Sure looks like Doug is very protective over its kitchen utensils and trying hard to make sure that they don’t disappear into the soup or make a mess in the kitchen. Clingy Doug is a very helpful kitchen knick-knack to have. Made with silicone and available in red only. Check out Monkey Business if you want to bring Doug home.
There are some jobs you should leave to the experts and there are many which you should tackle yourself. Some painting and decorating jobs may be a little tricky but everybody can learn how to paint a wall . . . and that means you.
We’ve all heard the excuses. I don’t have the time. My arms get tired. I haven’t got the right equipment. I don’t such as the smell. I’m not tall enough to reach the top of the wall and that i don’t use a step-ladder.
Let’s rewind to this last potential problem – I’m not tall enough to reach the top of the wall. Let me ask just this one question . . . who may be? You don’t even need to have a step-ladder nowadays, it can be this kind of bind always having to climb down the steps to move the ladder across every 5 minutes – then climb backup – then climb back again.
There exists another way – drywall stilts. They are awesome, they may be lightweight, safe and they move when you do. Check out the great selection on www.thelashop.com.
Okay, back to business – painting and decorating made easy. One thing to remember is one of the most important parts of decorating and painting happens before you even get a brush with your hand – a professional job needs professional quality preparation. Before you start to color the results will probably be much better, when your ceilings and walls are in a good state.
• Make sure that the walls / ceilings are free and clean from smooth, dust and dry. Rinse using clean water by leaving them to dry if your walls are a little dirty let them have a wash down using sugar soap.
• Be sure that you remove any blemishes brought on by new plaster.
• The order of things is also important – start out with the ceiling, then paint the walls and leave any woodwork till the end.
• Brush, Roller or Paint Pad? – Whatever you use for the majority of your painting job you will also need to use a brush. Rollers and paint pads cannot go into those awkward corners likewise that a smallish brush can. Rollers and pads are perfect for larger, straight or flat surfaces like the majority of walls and ceilings but you’ll need a brush for the corners and the tricky bits.
• Paint rollers are best used slowly otherwise you will find yourself and your surroundings covered with a splattering of the paint. If necessary, Rollers can be linked to longer poles for ceilings.
Different sized paint pads are compatible with different areas. Use a 200mm paint pad for the ceilings and walls along with a smaller 30mm / 50mm paint pad is useful for cutting in. Keep your pad flat against the wall whilst you are painting moving randomly all over the surface but finish off with long, straight strokes.
You’ll be surprised at how a fresh lick of paint can really help to transform a tired looking room. Whether you fancy a change of color (you will need more than one coat of paint if you are going from dark to light colors) or whether you just want to freshen up among the rooms in your house this is one DIY project which you should be able to tackle yourself. Remember to hide the carpets and furniture when you haven’t removed them and wear old clothes – no matter how careful you are you’re sure to get some paint on the clothes.
This Aquarius Boombox Lunch Box is pretty darn cute. It reminds me of the 80’s when we used to blast the boombox listening to Michael Jackson and Madonna. It is so old-school and retro. This thin lunch box has nice graphics too. I wonder if the kid would like to have this to bring her lunch to school. I sure won’t mind one myself. Available at Wayfair.com.
One of my friends received this nifty gadget for Christmas. It is the Hamilton Beach Breakfast Maker. It is oh-so cool! It can easily cook breakfast in just five minutes using your own fresh ingredients. This sandwich maker gently toasts the bread on top and holds the heat inside. The egg layer would cook the egg inside the sandwich. It is so quick and easy to use. I want one for my coming birthday please.
I spotted this Doodle Duvet at Cgets.com. It is so much fun!
Why buy a duvet with pattern when you can draw your own? You can transform your bedroom into a masterpiece. Time to let the creative juice flow with just a unique duvet and pen set. The duvet is in a design of a piece of paper, just waiting to be drawn on. If you want to change a new look, just put it in the washing machine and you will find a new piece of paper, I mean a duvet.
