Bella Hadid Wearing 1999 Gucci Pants

If yáll are still wondering whether the 90s are back, well here is something to prove that they are officially back. It’s a pair of vintage Gucci pants. Recently, Bella Hadid was spotted wearing the iconic Gucci green leather pants from its 1999 fall/winter collection that was embellished by Tom Ford. A savvy fashionista spotted the same pants being worn by Gisele Bundchen at the Gucci runway during Tom Ford’s era. 

Quite recently, Hadid wore this vintage pants with a simple ribbed tank with the words “Here Comes Trouble” throwback tank and a pair of black Femme Louis Slippers. The model also used a Coach Brooklyn shoulder bag that’s retailing at $495.  So how do you like the 90’s trend? This isn’t the first time that Bella Hadid is wearing a 90s throwback look. She was spotted in Gucci’s Spring/Summer 1998 collection on her 25th birthday celebration where she wore a long-sleeved black crop top backwards and held together with a clip. She paired the top with a matching black knee-length wrap skirt and knee-high boots. 

While attending the Cannes Film Festival, Hadid also wore some vintage slip dresses from Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana. 

Move Aside Tank Tops, The Polo Shirt Is Back

You would know a trend is coming up when it is spotted on major fashion runways. For the Spring/Summer 2024, the preppy polo shirt is back. It was first spotted at Miuccia Prada’s runways and the polo shirt was the heart of the collection. Models were dressed in navy polo shirts paired with baggy board shorts, collegiate blazers and flip flops or boat shoes.

In Milan, much attention were given to Sabato de Sarno’s debut collection for Gucci where he zeroed in on uncomplicated staples. He came out with Gucci polos crafted in fine crochet knits, with red and green striped detailing on the collar and cuffs and matching micro knitted shorts.

Recently, celebrities have adopted the polo shirt trend. Hailey Biebe wore Loewe’s cropped striped polo with baggy jeans while Taylor Swift was seen in an oversized Stella McCartney polo shirt with knee-high brown leather boots. Whether you want to look as prim as Taylor, or channel the sloppy fresher look, there is no doubt that you will be seeing a lot more of the polo shirts in 2024.

When it comes to jaw-dropping and iconic fashion moments, Jennifer Lopez is the one that plays an important role in setting the standard on how to dress and leave everyone stunned on the red carpet. J Lo has a style history of showing up in jaw-dropping plunging gowns (remember the green Versace gown) and very often, she features sexy cut-outs and playful thigh high slits. Recently, Lopez was honored by Elle’s 2023 Women In Hollywood Awards and without a doubt, she showed up with an attire that makes a powerful statement as she gave her acceptance speech.

J Lo wore a bold breastplate on the red carpet. The sculptural top piece was cropped to show off her ripped abs. She paired it with a black column skirt that hits the ground. Lopez went for a smokey eye effect that complements the reflection of the starry gloss of the metal plate. Her earrings are long drooping in diamonds and she finished her look with a slick back bun and closed toe platform heels.

Rihanna made the most Rihanna-worthy entrance at the recent 2023 Oscars. She was wearing a gray Eagles T-shirt, an olive green bucket hat, black Vans, tote bag, huge hoop earrings and chain bracelet while walking into the Dolby Theatre in LA.

Not too long later, she changed into a chic Alaia dress with leather skirt and a long train. The black dress features sheer mesh paneling at the torso where the baby bump is in full view. The floor-length dress also featured leather straps, a mesh turtleneck and mesh at the sleeves. She then accessorized with two big diamond rings with large brown stones, and diamond-and-emerald drop earrings from Moussaieff High Jewellery. Rihanna had her hair hihg up in a spiky bun.

Met Gala 2022 Red Carpet Outfit

So Met Gala happened last night. This important night is referred to as “Fashion’s biggest night” is a fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.  The event is graced by celebrities and young creative people. It is a two part exhibition where Part 1 was held on September 2021 in the Anna Wintour Costume Center with the theme “In America : A Lexicon of Fashion.  The 2nd part opens on May 5th 2022 with the theme “IN Aerica: An Anthology of Fashion.

Below are some of the best looks on the red carpet.

Blake Lively was one of the evening’s co-hosts and she wore a bronze and rose gold look that transformed into a shimmery layer of baby blue as a large bow was pulled apart. Her look drew inspiration from the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and the blue ceiling of Grand Central Station.

A large knot on the skirt of Lively’s dress unraveled to showcase a long blue train.

Kim Kardashian came in one of Marilyn Monroe’s most iconic dresses – a gold beaded body hugging dress that she wore while singing happy birthday to President John F. Kennedy 60 years ago. In order to fit into the dress, Kardashian had to lose 16 pounds.

The most important music award show – The Grammys was held last night. A little late this year due to the Omicron outbreak. Artists such as Billie Eilish, Doja, BTS, LIl Nas X arrived on the red carpet wearing designs that are fit for the Grammys. There were also performances by Olivia Rodrigo, BTS and many more.  Below is a recap of some of the artists arriving on the red carpet.

Doja Cat was nominated for eight awards at the 2022 Grammys. The rapper and singer arrived on the red carpet in a sheer, sea foam-colored Versace gown. The off-shoulder look is dripping in crystals and features a corseted bodice. She finished the look with matching platform shoes, glittering diamond jewelry and a glass purse from Coperni, filled with candy.

The ’90s can be credited with giving us the sexy slip dresses and kitten heels, there is also some trends that we would like to keep in the past.
