We all know that age is just a number, but many women want their skin to look a little more fresh, dewy, and wrinkle-free. Here are some tips gathered from makeup artists, dermatologists and other experts on how to look and feel your best at any age.
1. LIGHTER LIPSTICK
Dark shades can be unflattering especially on mature skin because lips get thinner with age. It is best to choose rosy reds or flesh-colored shades. Do stay away from peaches and oranges, which can make teeth appear yellow. Do you know that wearing lipstick without other makeup can make you look older than if you wear no makeup at all?
2. BLUSH
To have an instant cheek lift, place your blush brush at the highest point of your cheekbone and apply color in a circular motion. Choose warm pinks, apricots, or bronzes since they create less contrast. We like this Sweet Peach Glow illuminating, blushing and bronzing palette that is infused with the juicy scent and skin-loving essence of peach to give your face a radiant natural peach glow.
3. LIFT YOUR EYES WITH PENCIL
If you have been using liquid eyeliner, maybe you may want to try a creamy and soft eyeliner pencil. The softness of a classic kohl or gel pencil enlarges the eyes more than liquid liners do. If you have droopy-looking eyelids, blend the liner up at the outer corners with a Q-tip or flat eyeliner brush.
4. GET THE RIGHT CONCEALER
Cover-up can be a tad tricky to apply. Some products may sink into crevices thus emphasizing every fine line. To get the most coverage with the least product, try “camouflage,” a dryer form of concealer that can take years off of your face. It does not contain as much oil as a regular concealer, therefore it would not move. Try Urban Decay Naked Concealer.
